“A drug test is a technical analysis of a biological specimen...to determine the presence or absence of specified parent drugs or their metabolites.” Although cost have began to increase, drug testing is the answer to solving our problems. I believe that anyone in schools, not just those in sports, should be required to take drug tests at random. Some may believe that drug testing students is against their rights of privacy, but the supreme court says otherwise. Supreme court Justice Thomas states that, “schools have an interest in detecting and preventing drug use among its students, and that the urine analysis program did so without violating the students’ privacy rights.” Not only athletes and club members, but anyone who participates in any sort of activity at school. We would do this because if its only for sports or clubs, then most kids would not be involved in those things. Drugs harm you in many ways so we will do whatever it takes to prevent it within schools. Some things that drugs can do to you is, change your appearance (which cannot be changed back), causes memory loss, and affects your grades negatively. When people do drugs, it can change their personality which can then lead to you missing out on much in life. This is why there are many advantages to drug testing. It can prevent the use of drugs throughout schools and can also help because if a student that does drugs sees the consequences, they are then more likely to quit.
