If guns aren’t harder to obtain then just like now, everyone will be able to have one. Even people with mental illnesses or who plan on committing crimes could get their hands on them. If these people get guns there is a higher chance that innocent people could be hurt or killed. There have been many mass shootings due to guns and the people who wield them. There have been 74 school shootings since Sandy Hook, and that was in December of 2012. On October 1, 2015 there was college shooting at Umpqua Community College, where 26-year-old student Christopher Harper-Mercer killed 10 people and injured 9, then committed suicide. Most of these shootings have something in common, it was performed by someone that should have never had access to a gun in the first place.
