Congress Coalition on Adoption Institute states Around the world, there are 17,900,000 orphans who have lost both parents and are living in orphanages or on the streets and lack the care and attention required for healthy development. These children are at risk for disease, and death but International Adoption will be able to solve that. Adoption is giving one parent the rights, responsibilities, and roles which another parent finds too difficult to handle. Adoptions are usually formed when the birth mother decides that she is unable to take care of her child. So she makes the decision to put her child up for adoption knowing that when she does give up her child to another family, she knows that the child will get the necessary support and love that she could not supply to the child. Those parents turn to adoption because it is affordable, but parents who are unable to get a child through an american agency go to the international adoption agency to get a child quicker. Due to many of the state's regulations and requirements, parents have to go through long processes that take up to months before even being looked upon as being candidates for adopting a child in the United States. The Independent Adoption center states, “ to adopt an infant domestically in the United States it takes about 12 months with most placements happening between six and 18 months.” Some parents feel that International adoption would be more expensive than adopting in the United States but the American Adoption agency states, “Both types of adoption have similar total costs, typically ranging from around $25,000 to $50,000, but they both have their own unique cost.” People who are willing to pay that much for a child are truly passionate about
