Climbing Mount Everest is an impressive feat for anyone. Over the years many people have successfully climbed the mountain. But in turn, many have also died while attempting to scale the legendary mountain. The people who train and climb the mountain are truly a different kind in my opinion. The dangers and high chance of death just doesn’t seem to be worth the extreme effort. Obviously the ones who decide to climb are thrill seekers, and do not fear the chance of losing their lives. The rush is worth it to them, maybe because they do not value their life enough to be scared. If the blatant danger is there you easily could die, I do not see it fit to climb anyway. I wouldn’t be able to not think about my family if I had one. For example, “How will my family, wife and kids, survive without me if I die on this trip?” It seems selfish to go on my own …show more content…
I can understand that, as I am dedicated in my own life to accomplish a certain goal. That’s their dream in the story, to climb the mountain, and that’s why they’re willing to take the apparent risks of climbing. To Rob Hall, Jon Krakauer, the risk is worth it. Climbing is their passion and it is what they do best. However I cannot see putting that much dedication into something that could easily take my life away as it is so dangerous. Even if I had to make a dangerous travel to somewhere new to pursue my dreams I don’t think I could do it if the risks were that great and I very well could end up not coming back. My life isn’t worth chasing a dream that would kill me. I just can’t justify that. The climbers in Into Thin Air risked their lives for what they loved and enjoyed just to have that brief moment of immense satisfaction of accomplishing a great feat. I still cannot justify that. It seems like it is too foolish to not see the risk and odds of the one way ticket of Mt.
