Marijuana is a hot topic in today’s society, with many states legalizing it throughout the nation. The stigma around marijuana is a complex, with it coming more into pop culture with even television shows around it’s making and consumption. If the federal government would legalize marijuana nationwide they could tax it, it could be used in a medical setting, and it would decrease crime. If the federal government were to legalize marijuana tomorrow, they would tax it without question. That is understandable, Big Brother has to get his share, with the sales taxes alone local government could fund programs in schools or parks. The tax revenue nationwide would be in the billions, which would put a dent in the national debt.
