The victory of Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump in the recently concluded elections is the “biggest political upset of our lifetime,” according to evangelical leader Rev. Franklin Graham.
In a Facebook message on Wednesday, Rev. Graham congratulated Trump and Vice President-elect Mike Pence for their victory in the elections. The renowned evangelist also said the incoming president is going to need prayers every day throughout his term, The Christian Post relays.
“This election has been long, it's been tough, and it's been divisive. It's time to put that behind us. Now is the time to come together in unity and work together,” said Graham in his Facebook message on Wednesday. “Our nation has so many problems that need fixing. Even more important are the spiritual needs of our country.”

Meanwhile, Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton and President Barack Obama both called on Americans to cooperate for a smooth transition and to be open to their incoming leader. Their separate statements were delivered a day after Trump won in the presidential election, The Wall Street Journal reports.
During her concession speech, Clinton offered to work with Trump and asked her supporters to have an open mind on his leadership. She acknowledged that her defeat is painful, but urged everyone to accept the results of the election. Obama, on the other hand, said he is wishing for Trump’s success.
