Disney such a happy place to be, so we the consumer think. I grew up a block away from Disneyland in Anaheim. Yes I was lucky to see the fabulous fireworks every night. We moved to Nevada when I was 15 and just in a few short years when I came back to visit it seemed this little town I was so accustomed to be not so little anymore and it did not look the same either. I though t I was lost I didn’t recognize a thing. They had added California Adventure along with a huge parking structure. It’s every kids dream to be close to Disneyland but in reality it’s a nightmare. We spend a lot of money on Disney products because we have kids, movies, toys and clothes, so yes we buy into just as much as the next person. Walt Disney probably never expected this much reaction to what he created so many years ago. Disney is gong the right route with their product placement and honestly letting companies like Starbucks have locations inside the park is a big asset. People want good coffee while they are walking around, Disney doesn’t just mean fun for the kids the adults have to enjoy themselves as well. Tsum Tsum have become really popular, they are little replicas of the characters but cartoonish, trust me we have spent more than enough on them for our son. Every time we go the park maybe 1 out of the 100 workers we see there is only one who doesn’t seem like they want to be there, so they must be doing something right for employees.
Disney will visage cultural differences in Russia, therefore they must adapt with original platforms. Iger and the higher level management team should do their homework and due diligence prior to expanding into this country. A widespread strategic and business plan with definite goals will help this expansion
