Does your schooling go year-round?? Do you ever miss having school in the summer. If your school doesn’t go year-round or you miss having school sometimes, your school should implement year-round schooling. I believe all schools like Shattuck Middle School should implement year-round schooling. For one, students get more breaks than other schools. Second, less time is needed to re-teach students anything from previous years. Finally, most students score higher in math and reading tests. While some might say, year-round schooling is too much, but really it just helps students learn more.

First, students actually get more breaks in year-round schooling than the traditional school calendar. Instead of 180 days for summer break, year-round schooling kids have 9 week “quarters”, …show more content…
The Principal at Piedmont Elementary, Beth Sturgill says “it prevents teacher and student burnouts if re-teaching isn’t needed”. Beth also says that “The school has some family concerns they’d like to check in with and make sure everything is ok, and to make such those problems are taking care of in a timely matter. Finally, students score higher on reading and math tests. In 2013, 38.1% of students scored at or above mastery at Piedmont Elementary, for reading tests.
