To live as a Murderer
In the book “The Most Dangerous Game” by Richard Connell, Zaroff should be more severely punished because he killed more people than Montresor. Zaroff was a hunter who lived his life hunting animals, but after killing so many he found it boring because he knew how they moved. Instead of hunting animals he decided to hunt humans because he thought it would be harder. In the book “The Cask of Amontillado” by Edgar Allan Poe, Montresor decided that he was going to kill someone because they called him something that he didn’t like. He planned every detail and made sure he had the right materials and to make sure that he was drunk. Even though they both killed someone or something they should both be punished. Montresor believes that this comment was an insult upon him. Since he didn’t like this comment, Montresor decided that he was going to kill his friend. He planned on killing him on the Carnival while he was drunk. He wanted to keep Fortunato Drunk so that he wouldn’t wonder why Montresor was leading him into a dungeon. Montresor made sure that he had enough bricks and cement to build a wall after he would fetter Fortunato to another wall. While he was doing this, the alcohol was wearing off of Fortunato and he started to scream for help and try to escape. Montresor started to laugh out loud while Fortunato was struggling and decided to take a break to watch his friend struggle. No one heard him because everyone was at the carnival except for Montresor and Fortunato. Montresor only had to put one more brick into the wall that he made but he decided to drop a torch into the hole and he heard the bells of Fortunato's outfit ring as the torch hit him and bounced off too hit the ground. 50 years later Montresor told people what he had
