Former President Franklin D. Roosevelt said, “Remember, remember always, that all of us, and you and I especially, are descended from immigrants and revolutionists.” And although immigration is part of our history, the current immigration system lacks efficiency. If I was able to have a one-on-one audience with the next president to be elected, I would recommend him or her to implement more research into finding a way to have a more efficient and accessible path for immigrants to come to the United States through the modernization of the immigration system, and a better use of the budget in place.
More research is needed to find a way to have a more efficient and accessible path for immigrants who want to experience the American dream and have a better life. Most of the illegal immigrants come just to work, and have a better life. After saying this, I don’t believe they are doing the correct thing by breaking the law, however they are faced with such hardships, that they illegal immigrants are forced to come illegally to the United States.
In conclusion, although some progress has been made throughout the years, there is still a lot that can be done to have a better immigration system in place. During this year’s election of president, as well as the previous ones, there has been controversy regarding changes in immigration policy, and I would like the next president to think not just politically, but also in a humane way, when coming up with their immigration
