Celebrating Veterans Every year on November 11 we celebrate veterans. Have you ever thought about why we do this? Three main reasons why we have a holiday celebrating veterans are to acknowledge those who have served in our armed forces, to remember those who have given the ultimate sacrifice of their lives, and to ensure that as a nation we remember that the freedoms we enjoy are paid for by a very high price. On Veteran’s Day we are given the opportunity to honor those who served in our armed forces and fought for our country. In 2014, there were 21.8 million veterans of the U.S armed forces.
