Who here can say that they have never taken the small things in life for granted? Here we all are worrying about the frivolous perks of our fortunate lives, when at this moment over 600,000 people in America are homeless. Everyday they have to worry about where they are going to sleep, where they are going to find their next meal, and whether or not they are safe. Everyday they have to live without the basic necessities we so often forget to be grateful for. And everyday we sit here doing nothing, their suffering is prolonged. I am here today to raise awareness about the pressing matter of homelessness and to show you how a little care and compassion can help change the lives of the less fortunate.
