Brothers, cant we all agree that joining this great chapter of Phi Gamma Delta has been the best decision we have made since coming to college? When I first arrived at the University of Iowa, I chose to rush with an open mind, even though as many of you know my grandfather was a Phi Gam here at Iowa. He encouraged me to check it out, but by no means forced it upon me. After visiting the house once and talking to some of the guys, I realized quickly that Fiji held some of the greatest individuals on this campus. Since joining, I have learned what it means to be a Fiji gentleman and the importance of persistence. Scholarship, Fraternity, Self are not only the priorities of our fraternity but a guide to having the most rewarding college experience and there after. This Fraternity has taught me so much and I am ready to give back. If I am elected Historian I will strive to preserve and record History within our chapter. Being Risk manager this semester has shown me what it takes to be a leader in this chapter. I have learned how to build new relationships with the pledges and have experienced confrontation with the university in the worst of situations. My main focus as historian will be the JI education program. This is a pivotal transition in molding and teaching our new members what it means to be a true Fiji gentleman. I …show more content…
Everyone in this chapter excels at something and I see a lot of these talents underutilized. With our Chapter growing and more people living out of the house I fear that many brothers will become distant, but I plan to seek out these individuals and encourage them to continue to guide this fraternity forward. I want to encourage all brothers to seek me out with there ideas and I will do my best to find a way to get it done. With everyone putting in their fair share and using their talents accordingly, we will be able to accomplish more then this fraternity has ever
