Phillip Craig Garrido was born in Pittsburg, California in 1951. Manual J. Garrido and Patricia Lucille Franzen treated their sons Ron and Philip with respect, love, and loads of care. Philip went to school as any other child, and graduated in the year 1969. High School was a breeze for young Garrido. Unfortunately after his graduation Garrido’s life started trembling down hill with the use of narcotics and substances.
Late 1969 Garrido was arrested for the possession of drugs. He was quickly released. Three years after his first arrest, Philip was arrested for the second time in 1972 for drugging and raping a fourteen year old-girl. Uncoincidentally Garrido was in charge of this horrid abduction. Garrido kidnaped Callaway and took her to a storage facility warehouse in Reno, Nevada, Where she was kept for eight hours. Phillip Garrido continuously raped Catie Callaway for four hours, until she was scared with the filthy image in her innocence, corrupted mind. She was finally rescued by a police officer who was investigating a broken lock on the storage shed. Garrido was easily caught and sentenced to fifty years in federal prison for kidnapping. He was also sentenced for an additional 5 years to life on state charges of sexual assault. However, somehow, someway he only mysteriously served 11 out of 55 years of his sentence and earned parole in 1988.
Catie Callaway Hall blasted the parole board's decision, saying she feared Garrido would come after her again. "I was terrified," Hall said. "They had assured me that he was not looking for me, that his focus wasn't in my direction. But I didn't trust that. I was the one who sent him to prison."
