Hello, my name is Karma West. I am enrolled in the Phlebotomy Technician program with the intent of finding a job after I complete the course. I have been considering a career in Phlebotomy for several years. After I started working at Gerald Champion as an Environmental Services Technician, I felt as if I developed a more accurate perspective of the healthcare setting than I had before, which strengthened my interest in Phlebotomy. I am also working on my Associate of Science with a concentration in Biology, which I plan to use to complete my Bachelors with the intent to study medical lab technology. I have always loved working with equipment and tools to learn about the human body, and I would enjoy being able to collect specimens and eventually analyze those specimens. I also enjoy the patient-focused aspect of Phlebotomy. It's always nice when I'm able to put confidence in patients regarding the hospital and help however I can.
