Go Phonics Curriculum Review: Level 2 Template

Part one: The lesson in level two are about teaching and learning short vowel sounds. When introducing this lesson give precise instructions. The time to teach the lesson may vary depend on the grade level and the type of class. Make sure to teach the lesson in a multisensory approached. During each lesson make sure to use auditory review and test over spelling. Some way to teach auditory review could be to review all the consonants letter and their sounds first. Then for the spelling section the teacher will say a word and then the children will make the letter in the air and then write the word down while maintaining the correct way to hold a pencil. Also, teach visual review by reading.

Each vowel has at least two possible sounds that the letter can make. Short vowel sounds and long vowel sound. In each lesson in level two the teacher and the children practice handwriting. Make sure when write the spelling word to review from lesson one the writing line and how to grip the pencil. They also practice and review spelling. When review and learning new spelling, words try to used nonsense syllables and red flag word for extra practice. When read the book that goes to each lesson have the children ask question about the layout of the book like the title and its meaning. If a child is having trouble with the new introduced short vowel sound in the word play game that reinforced decoding, letter sounds and rhyme words. In some of the lesson they start teaching digraph words. Make sure to review spelling by reading and auditory spelling test. The lesson teach phonogram like honk that are not on the word chart. You also learn about contraction. The sounds in a new language are often very hard to learn and this is not he5 by the fact that many teachers do not make it a priority in their classroom . The book also show the important of teaching vowels. Vowels dictate the English language and learning .when we learn all the rules that control the spelling of vowels in words .Which we cannot learn or teach without because the principal of teaching vowel cannot be avoided. Vowels are the building blocks of words. By practicing to understand and say vowels oral properly, you can also improve spelling, reading, speech, and comprehension.
