In this assignment I will explain my career goals, list ways Kaplan University can assist in my career development and describe the personality traits associated with my desired profession and how I match up with those traits. My career goal is to become a Physical Therapist. I hope to get a better idea of what I should expect in the career of a physical therapist. Physical therapists are licensed health care professionals who work with patients to improve mobility, reduce pain and work on long-term restoration. Physical therapists work individually with patients to develop a plan to prevent and manage their condition. They can provide tutoring for classes. KU also provides writing, math, and science resources. These resources can help assist me in completing my degree and having a better overall understanding of my degree. In 5 years I see myself working at a physical therapist. I will have graduated with a bachelor’s degree in health science and a doctorate in physical therapy. My preferred location to work would be at an outpatient clinic, for a sports team or a fitness center. Although, those are my preferred places to work I just want to help people. I’m excited to learn different ways to improve overall health and how to prevent injuries. In Conclusion, I feel I have what it takes to become a Physical therapist. I have the desire to help others. I can be social when I need to be. I’m a very dependable person and when a patient needs therapy I will make sure I’m there to provide it for them. Over the years I have gotten better at my analytical thinking. This is a tool I can use in trying to come up with different ways to help a patient. Not everything works the same for each patient. I will need to come up with individual ways and that’s where my analytical thinking will come into
