According to A.T. Still University, the demand for physician assistants is at an all-time high (“Advance Physician”). This job would be great for the right person who loves to work with the people. Physician assistants are well renowned for the work they do within the community they are in. Being a physician’s assistant requires a college education, specific duties, and also provides a livable salary. In college a student must take a certain number of courses in areas such as biology, chemistry, English, and math. Also the student must complete a formal physician assistant (PA) program to actually become a PA. When entering a PA program, an applicant must have at least two years of college. Most applicants going into these programs have at least a bachelor’s degree. Length of PA programs mostly …show more content…
Salaries for all PA’s range from about $62,000 to $131,000 a year. The median annual salary of a PA is around $93,000. PA’s in emergency medicine and surgical specialties usually earn more than those working in primary care areas of general internal medicine, pediatrics, and family care. Most PA’s also receive benefits such as paid vacations, pension plan contributions, and paid dental and vision care. After retirement, one would have a livable income from the Physician Assistant profession (“Physician Assistant”). Being a physician assistant, one can earn a livable salary, but must have a good college education to carry out the specific duties of the job. The importance of PA’s is huge, there is a big need for them to help out the doctors. This occupation may be hard to obtain, and will take some work, but will pay off in the long run.
