The natural process of dying can sometimes be tainted by a painful series of medical procedures, illnesses and injuries. Physician Assisted Suicide (PAS) lessens the amount of pain that terminally-ill patients feel and speeds the process of dying. Physician Assisted Suicide is only legal in six states, however it should undeniably legal in every state because doctors are allowing their patients to “go out” on their own terms. These terminally-ill patients can choose their last meal, who they want to be with and what environment they want to pass away in. Physician Assisted Suicide is a necessary evil in our nation today and its nation-wide legalization will make a major positive impact on our citizens and medical programs. Physician Assisted Suicide, involves a simple process that painlessly kills the patient reliving them of their pain and hopelessness. Physician Assisted Suicide is legal in only six states, Washington, Oregon, Montana, Vermont, California, and Colorado (Bernstein). Doctors have found the cheapest combination of lethal drugs to be a mix between phenobarbital, chloral hydrate, and morphine sulfate.
