I think velazquez was trying to portray that the princess was the not more important than the servants. Picasso was trying to portray the importance of the princess. Also he wanted the servants to seem inhuman or without emotion. They both have a princess wearing a dress and a necklace of some kind. Though one is red while the other is a flower like thing. The original is more real and the redone version is using cubism. The original painter’s motive was to live alive and not in paint. While picasso was to remake it in his mind better than before epicly making it into the best kids doodle in the world. Plus it doesn't evan look like a two year old would draw that bad.
