The white-necked rockfowl (Picathartes gymnocephalus) is a medium-sized bird in the family Picathartidae with a long neck and tail. Also known as the white-necked picathartes, this passerine is mainly found in rocky forested areas at higher altitudes in West Africa from Guinea to Ghana. Its distribution is patchy, with populations often being isolated from each other. The rockfowl typically chooses to live near streams and inselbergs. It has no recognized subspecies, though some believe that it forms a superspecies with the grey-necked rockfowl. The white-necked rockfowl has greyish-black upperparts and white underparts. Its unusually long, dark brown tail is used for balance, and its thighs are muscular. The head is nearly featherless, with the exposed skin being bright yellow except for two large, circular black patches located just behind the eyes. Though the bird is usually silent, some calls are known. These rockfowl feed primarily on insects, though parents feed small frogs to their young. One feeding strategy involves following Dorylus army ant swarms, feeding on insects flushed by the ants. Rockfowl move through the forest primarily through a series of hops and bounds or short flights in low vegetation. This species rarely flies for long distances. The white-necked rockfowl is monogamous and pairs nest either alone or in the vicinity of other pairs, sometimes in colonies with as many as eight nests. These nests are constructed out of mud formed into a deep cup…
Scout and Jem in the church because they were white. “You ain't got no business bringin' white chillun here-they got their church, we got our'n. It is our church, ain't it, Miss Cal?” (Pg 158) Lula said that when Calpurnia stops her after she asks why she brought Jem and Scout with her to their church and walks away. She makes the children feel unwelcome and wants them to go home because what she said meant “You can’t come to OUR church because you’re white and we’re black.” Lula show another occurrence…
Snow White and the Huntsman Word Count: 652 Griffin Bambach
Snow White and the Huntsman starts out with Kristen Stewart who plays the only person in the land fairer than the evil queen, her name, Snow White. While the film offers an exciting take on the fairy tale that inspired it (Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs), Snow White and the Huntsman is slow at the beginning of the movie with a confusing script but gets a lot more entertaining throughout the movie…

October 11, 2014
The desegregation of sports introduced diversity on the playing fields; however the roles were clearly defined on racial lines. As Coakley tells us, “Even the positions played by blacks and whites fit patterns shaped by racial ideology.” He continues by stating, “Blacks were expected to be faster and more physically gifted playing positions in the outfield in baseball and defensive backs in football. Quarterback…

Jack White and the Blues
Many artists have undertaken the immense task of performing and recording
the Blues. However, performing the blues is an entirely separate concept from
feeling the Blues, thus where many artists have attempted, only few have arisen
victorious. Jack White is one of these artists; a man who arose from humble
beginnings and has retained his traditional Blues sensibility regardless of the
inarguable success that he has…
modern blues mastermind and guitar extraordinaire Jack White, elicited much media and devotee anticipation, as well as apprehension, for the album’s April 24, 2012 release date. Jack White was the man behind the outlandish color-coordinated Detroit rock duo The White Stripes, who with hits like “Dead Leaves and the Dirty Ground” and “Seven Nation Army” revived rock music and brought the blues to an unexpecting but ever so grateful generation. Jack White was the man behind the blues-folk band The Raconteurs…
White supremacy is a belief that all white people are superior to all minorities. I never really understood what white supremacy was until I watched American History X movie. When watching American History X, I did not realized how much white people hate minorities. I always knew it was an issue, but never thought the racism was still just as bad in certain areas. A new insight that this assignment as giving me is that hate crimes will always exist no matter what, unless you take the older generation…

White Tailed Tropicbird-
The white-tailed tropicbird breeds on tropical islands laying a single egg directly onto the ground or a cliff ledge. It disperses widely across the oceans when it’s not breeding, and sometimes wanders far. It feeds on fish and squid, caught by surface plunging, but this species is a poor swimmer. The call is a high screamed keee-keee-krrrt-krrt-krrt. Sailors nicknamed the tropicbird the "bosun bird".
The adult white-tailed tropicbird is a slender, mainly white bird, 71–80 cm…
White Cotton Cot
By Mitch Adams
Pools of sweat were collecting as Phillip lay static, belly up in his white cotton cot. He wished it was hot sweat akin to the type collected after a hearty healthy workout, Philip could not remember the last time he partook in such activity. The men dressed to match the white of the walls prohibited such activity; Philip was enraged when they doubted his youthful vitality.
Philip was regarded as fantastically fit not so long ago, before this building decided to…
