Piggy Character Analysis

In the book Lord of The Flies by William Golding, there was a character called Piggy, he was excluded from the boys because he looked and acted differently. In the book The Curious Incident Of The Dog In The Night-Time by Mark Haddon, a character is made an outcast just like Piggy, this character's name is Christopher. They have a lot of similarities such as their remarkable intelligence, their bright ideas and how they both want everything to be in order and make sense. Piggy and Christopher are both very intelligent, an example of Piggy showing his intelligence, was when he was stuck on the island and Piggy said to Ralph, “We got to find the others. We got to do something.”(Golding 14.), that quote shows Piggy’s intelligence because he knew if there were more people on that island that they would have a better chance of surviving than if it were just two boys. Christopher showed his intelligence by figuring out how to get to London on his own to see his Mom. Piggy and Christopher also both have very good ideas. One idea Piggy had, was to use the conch as a way to signal the boys in the book he said, “We can use this to call the others. Have a meeting. They’ll come when they hear us-” (Golding 16.) If Piggy and Christopher didn’t have these traits the whole plot of the book would be impacted and Piggy and Christopher would be totally different characters than how they were before.
