Planned Parenthood is a nonprofit organization that was initially established in 1916 to provide reasonable health care for women (Planned Parenthood Federation of America, 2018). The Planned Parenthood Federation of America has been recognized as a 501(c)(3) since April 22, 1922 ((Planned Parenthood Federation of America, 2018). Over time, the organization has expanded its efforts toward men and young people across the world. The Planned Parenthood organization was initiated by Margaret Sanger ((Planned Parenthood Federation of America, 2018). Her educational, nursing skills and activism supported her intellectual concepts into a phenomenon that revolutionized the world for millions of people over time. After traveling to Europe to study about various birth control methods, she along with her sister, Ethel Byrne and another activist Fania Mindell opened the country’s first birth control center in Brownsville, Brooklyn (Planned Parenthood Federation of America, 2018). Consequently, due to the unlawful right to educate people on birth control in the United, The Planned Parenthood center was shut down and the three women were arrested and charged with violating the law.
