What is an American? In my opinion, being an American is a person who says or believes in the Pledge of Allegiance. What i mean by that is the Pledge of Allegiance means a lot to America and to it’s people. The Pledge of Allegiance has a lot of meaning to its soldiers. Also another reason of being an American is having freedom. Lastly being an American is being a hardworker and believes that they can accomplish anything. The first reason about saying or believing in the Pledge of Allegiance means to me. The Pledge of Allegiance has a lot of meaning to America. The Pledge of Allegiance says that we are like one nation and also that we have liberty and justice for each and everyone of us. To the soldiers it means even more to them because they sacrifice their lives for our country. They put so much effort and affection to keep our country safe from anything. Not in every country or place in this world has freedom but all around America we have freedom. Us people in America have the Bill of Rights and each right has an Amendment. In the Constitution it starts off as “We the People” it starts off that way because we are all equal in America. Everyone of us has an equal part in America no one is treated differently. The first Amendment in the Bill of Rights says that we have the freedom of speech and religion. Here in America you can be in any religion we wouldn't force someone to be in a religion they wouldn't want to be in. Freedom of speech means we have the right for our voice to be heard. The second Amendment is saying that we have the to bear arms and it means we have the right to carry weapons to protect ourselves.
