I choose to research the education for ADHD children and how it is limited. I feel that the education that children with disability is limited because of the lack of training offered to the teachers and staff. In the first article I noticed that it had some supporting information about ADHD and what a child may qualify for. I found that this was very interesting since you must be trained differently and seek different classes in order to become an IEP coordinator and to teach special education classes. Although the article states that children with this disability are getting their education. As for the second article states what the IEP is for and that it is specific to the child’s needs. I have found that this information is very helpful also. It states that we as parents need to know certain things that are not told to us when we are first told about ADHD. I feel that my opinion has changed and that I feel that once we educate ourselves that the information is right at our hands. When you think about a child having a learning disability it is up to the parent to make sure that we are staying up to date on all the rules, laws and regulations that apply to their disability. Also making sure that their child is being taught and treated fair in the classroom and environment that they are being taught in. This is extremely important when the IEP is in place as well.
