Similar to many of the more recent riots that have occurred in response to police brutality, such as those in Ferguson, Baltimore, and countless other major cities across the country, several riots broke out across Los Angeles in April of 1992 following the highly publicized release of the controversial video of Rodney King being beaten by four police officers after a high speed chase during which King had retained a blood alcohol level of 0.19% and was also later suspected of being under the influence of marijuana.
