This book was written by Stacy Schiff, who is recognized mostly by her triumph of the Pulitzer Prize, an accolade for success in either American journalism, music, or literary works. She did an outstanding job describing the prosperity of Benjamin Franklin, born in Boston, Massachusetts, who did not have absolute astute training but made the wise decision of gambling with France. Franklin persuaded France to subsidize the experiment that America was undergoing in terms of democracy. This hefty book is not my personal cup of tea as it is very bromidic. On the other hand, it would definitely lend a helping hand to any student, scholar, or practitioner if their task were to go into more depth of this former founding father. Stacy Schiff is also recognized by her other written books named Saint Exupery and Mrs. Vladimir Nabokov, also winners of the Pulitzer Prize. All of her work was acknowledged by New York Times. In 2011, Schiff was also given the nickname Library Lion by as library in New York as well as prized with great recognition by receiving an Academy Award in Literature in the year 2006. There are often a lot of people trying to set new goals or break new records, like Franklin did. There are also people who are always out to start new fashion trends, as Franklin tried to do. The book related to the real world today because just like Franklin at the beginning of the book, some people start off friendly and sociable with many people but as soon as someone manipulated them into thinking they’re of higher class, they get self-centered. The author’s feelings for Franklin are balanced because it doesn’t show her favoring him or disliking him more. My opinion upon analyzing the book is that she admires him but she also isn’t afraid to show his true colors and the way his actions and personality changed all because of a trip to a different
