Furthermore, Joan’s military skill during war successfully helped the French win numerous important battles against the British. After Joan’s leadership motivated the French army, and got them rallied behind her she still needed to develop skilled tactics in order to defeat the British. As mentioned before, the French were being badly defeated in the Battle of Orleans when Joan inspired her army. She was a savior to the French while she was even to the English. The citizens of England were now scared to go to war because they heard the stories of Joan, and they thought she was invincibile. Joan ended the 7 month siege of Orleans in only 3 days of fighting. Defeating the English was a difficult task, and Joan shows off her military prowess by doing this in only 3 days of fighting. Joan was so exceptional in battle that the English began to become scared of her, and in turn weakened the English army, as many citizens didn’t want to join the army anymore because of the thought of facing off with Joan. Joan’s talent helped strengthen the French army as well as weakening the English. Joan continued to march with her army onto Reims with the goal in mind to crown King Charles VII. However, the English currently occupied Reims and the French would have to partake in more battles against the English. One of the most important battle was the Battle of Patay, and if the French defeated the British in the Battle of Patay they could officially crown King Charles
