As a respiratory therapist working at a busy trauma hospital I see the effects of poor hand hygiene. Half of the time healthcare providers, including myself fail to practice properly hand hygiene. Studies shows at least one of 25 hospital patients will acquire healthcare associated infection (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention {CDC}, 2016).
