Fun. is a genre - bending pop trio from New York City. Fun. is born out of three different bands. They consist of the Format's lead vocalist Nate Ruess, Steel Train's guatarist Jack Antonoff, and Anthallo keyboardist Andrew Dost. These three came together to make Fun. The trio started to write vintage pop songs. They eventually contacted Steven McDonald who recorded them.

The album only started their band in Jack Antonoff's living room. Fun's. top three songs today are "Some Nights", "Carry On", and "We are Young". The band was influenced by Queen and ELO. The album is produced by Jeff Bhaster who produced Kanye West's "My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy". The band drew much inspiration from hip-hop and west while staying true to their roots
