The Columbian exchange had a negative affect in world history because of the various repercussions that comes from greed and ignorance. When Columbus made landfall in 1492 he hadn’t a care in the world what or who he would encounter as he immediately made use of the locals. He let his greed and ignorance of basic human respect gets the best of him and that is why the new world turned into one giant factory. In The Crimes of Christopher Columbus it goes on to talk of his various crimes against the Indian people. It says “…the Indian population was between fifteen and twenty million when the first white man arrived to a fraction of that 150 years later.” Then goes on to say even more stating “…the vast majority of Indian casualties occurred not as a result of hard labor or deliberate destruction but because of the spread of contagious diseases that the Europeans transmitted to the Indians.” This small migration of the European people to the new lands of America not only killed a mass …show more content…
It shows a map of the southernmost colonies of the 13 European colonies that has upon it multiple products of their agriculture. It shows many crops almost all of which were managed and picked by the African American slaves including children which were worked to death. The crops that were harvested were all products of slavery and torture which made Europe into a greedy tyrant even in the new world. Slavery not only affected the African people now but also caused it to be a common thing in American history later on. It these very crops shows the European greed and ignorance of basic human rights which was all sparked by the Columbian exchange.
