The negative consequences outweigh the positive benefits when it comes to zoos and aquaria. Anti – captivity is more a persuasive position because of all the loopholes zoos and aquaria jump through to keep up their businesses. There is a program in place, the SSP, to ensure that the zoos can keep up their captive breeding programs under the disguise of repopulating a species. In reality, the zoos take those extra animals and either cull them or ship them away. Zoos make their enclosures nice with foliage and treats but the animals are still unhappy. It is unnatural that animals who are meant to roam freely and go wherever they please to be trapped in a glass prison surrounded by a sea of people. They are stressed. They are restless. They are
