9. Post-Class Entry.

I always considered myself a New Yorker since I thought I knew so much about the city. However, now that I have taken this class I actually never really was a true New Yorker. Before I took this class I didn’t know how to take the train, walk quickly, or even know about all the awesome things New York City has to offer. I have learned so many amazing things about the city’s history, subway lines, and even geography; but I still find myself not knowing everything about the city. I remember Mike told us that he would just give us a sample of the city and expects us to come back on our own to get the full experience. I thought he was just being dramatic and that we were going to actually experience everything the city has to offer. I found myself to be completely wrong in this case. New York City is the capital of the world and I wasn’t going to experience everything in just a few classes.

From learning that the N train can take me all the way to Coney Island to realizing that Queens is the most diverse area in the world I can honestly say that I feel as though I have become a better New Yorker. I always had a passion for art and history so I was glad I was able to take something else besides my business courses. This class was a breathe of fresh air and something I looked forward to each week. My mother always asked me what my next journey in my class would be, because she would love to hear about my cool new experiences. I learned that Queens, the place where I grew up could actually be fun and that didn’t actually need to leave the area to have
