Princess Diana once said, “Being a princess isn’t all it’s cracked up to be.” In other words, Princess Diana loved being a princess to the people around the world, but being a princess also came with many struggles. Despite all the struggles, Princess Diana is a hero because she was resilient, brave, caring, inspirational, and motivated. First, Princess Diana can be considered a modern day hero because she was resilient throughout all the struggles in her life. For example, Princess Diana showed how resilient she was by overcoming her awful divorce with Prince Charles. As a matter of fact, Diana was known to be a very good mother to her two sons. According to “Princess Diana” written by Constance Beauregarde, “Diana is still admired for the way she humanized the royal approach toward raising a family” (Beauregarde 70). After having her two sons, William and Henry, Diana maintained an amazing role as a mom. She tried to keep her son's life as private as possible. Princess Diana did everything she could to put her sons lives before her own, she held off business trips and charity work to take them to places such as a ski trip to Lech, Austria. She did everything she could to give them a normal life, such as breaking royal traditions. William was the very first member of the royal family to ever attend a public school. Not only was she a good caring mother, but she was also a caring charity worker when it came to people in need. In the book “Princess Diana” the author explains, “In 1992, Diana became the patron for Centrepoint, a charity that provides accommodation and support to the homeless” (Beauregarde 90). Princess Diana wasn’t very well-known for helping the homeless but she visited homeless shelters way more than credited. As a matter of fact, Diana brought her son William to one of the homeless shelters, where he was so affected by the experience of visiting them that he later he also became a patron of Centrepoint and has supported it ever since. Diana was known around her town because she had to work many jobs as a teenager. Biography Today in their article “Diana, Princess of Wales” states, “Diana later described these few years working in London was the happiest time of her life” (“Diana, Princess of Wales”). After finishing school Diana did not know what she wanted to do. She took on job roles in London such as waitressing, cleaning houses, and babysitting. After all her little job roles Diana finally found a job she really loved, a part-time teacher’s assistant. Diana was a teacher’s assistant for a kindergarten class at the Young England Nursery School. Being the teacher’s assistant was one of the last roles she took on before she was engaged to Prince Charles. Again, as motivated as she seemed, Diana hated school and had to motivate herself to pass high school. The article “Princess Diana” written by Deborah Cherlin indicates, “Diana wasn’t too fond of the schoolwork! In fact, when it came time to graduate and go off to high school, Diana had to buckle down and do extra work to pass the Common Entrance Exam required all students entering high school” (Cherlin). As stated before, Diana hated the fact she had to finish her schoolwork. Princess Diana loved going to school, but didn’t want to comprehend that going to school came with schoolwork. She later fell behind and was on the verge of not graduating at all. When Diana’s
