The prison nowadays is an important place to keep the peoples that got out of the government authority and who rush riots from all its kind. Most of the prisoners leave the prison in few years with serious problems and violent (Gilligan, 2012).
More than 90% of prisoners are authorized to leave the prisons and return to the community (Petersilia, 2000). According to Merriam Webster the prisoner means, “A person deprived of liberty and kept under involuntary restraint, confinement, or custody; especially: one on trial or in prison” (Merriam-Webster, 2015). The majority of the prisoners have mental issues, they get in to many troubles and they become addicted to problems, so they want to do it all the time to feel better and satisfied. The prisoners acquire many benefits from rehabilitation, they will have better chances of returning to a normal civilized lifestyle. Therefor, criminals that committed felonies can benefit from the rehabilitation programs. because it helps them to start a new life and get rid of the issues they use to have like stealing, murdering, and drugs. Also the criminals that committed felonies they will benefit the most from these programs. It can help them go back to the lives that they had before getting into their addictions. As Stephan stats that “Correctional authorities spent $38.2 billion to maintain the Nation’s State correctional systems in fiscal year 2001, including $29.5 billion specifically for adult correctional facilities” (The Advantages of Prison Rehabilitation, 2006). More over, if the prisoners get in to rehabilitation programs they will return to the community with less issue, so the addicted people to drugs and alcohol will get rehab
