For centuries now, abortion has played a huge role in society. Abortion is a burning issue not only in the United States but other countries. Some people believe that abortion is a woman’s right which today is called Pro-Choice. Pro-choice is a term used for those who are essentially pro-abortion. Those who are not pro-choice are called pro-life, a term used for those who are anti-abortion. Many people feel that abortion is wrong because the killing of an unborn child. On the other hand, some believe it is constitutional right for woman to be able to choose what is done to their body. To some extent those who are pro-life are right, but also very wrong. For instance; if a woman were a victim in the instance of rape, she could choose to have an abortion for several reasons – one being that the rape being too emotionally painful for the woman. Pro-choice defenders become sympathetic to these situations where as pro-life supporters would categorize the woman as a “murderer” and show little or no support. Sometimes, harassment becomes part of the aftermath from pro-life supporters and often do not take into consideration the principal of freedoms that we, as citizens of the U.S., posses and often results in violence. These pro-life supporters may stalk, threaten, or even sometimes kill women who have chosen to have an abortion and even the doctors that provide the procedures. Pro-life also stands behind the idea that every child has a right to live, even if the mother is not financially able to support the child and the child would struggle everyday along with the mother. These certain struggles often end up in situations of poverty and could potentially die from the conditions they’d be forced to live in. In a peculiar nature, abortion is beneficial to the planet. Pro-life supporters are blind to the situations, reasons, and benefits from abortions. They are ignorant to the reasons why many women choose to make the decision they do. It is clear abortion should remain legal; even if it seems immoral it can often be the best situation for the people that have to make the decision, even if it is a tough one. Pro-choice defends and protects the people and is ultimately the woman’s life that would be affected and no one else’s.
