Many people believe that having a concealed weapon means that you are automatically up to no good. What many people don’t know about having a concealed weapons permit is the extensive process that the person had to go through to acquire the permit. There will always be people who are against others carrying concealed weapons but there would be more good cases then worse. Most people that acquire weapons legally understand what they have is not a toy.

The process of acquiring a CCW (Concealed Carry – Weapons) is no simple task. When you first begin to even purchase a handgun you must first pass a test to see that you understand that what you are getting is not a toy and is a weapon. Once you complete the test step you go and buy your first firearm you must go through a 8 day extensive background check. If by now you have acquired your firearm and decide that you would like to get a CCW you must first do another even more extensive background check that the sheriffs department will look for good moral characters, a good cause for carrying a weapon, that the resident lives in the county for which they are

Some people might even think that its just dangerous to have and don’t understand that they know what they are doing with the weapon. If someone was being robbed at gunpoint and someone with a CCW was nearby they would be able to shoot at the felon because another persons life was in danger. I believe that people who are against it just took a few moments of their time to actually see how well trained and checked these people are who have the permits are they would understand more. Even though some states have different age requirements for the CCW permit I still believe that they are checked enough to find out if they are capable of having this weapon on them. The local sheriffs office denies many people constantly because they aren’t fit to have a weapon on them at all
