Throughout the years I have tried many different styles and colors in my hair. I have always enjoyed coloring hair. I decided to attend beauty school. I learned a great amount of how hair color works and interacts with the hair. I no longer do cosmetology on other people but I do enjoy coloring my own hair.
When I decide to color my hair I always end up finding a picture that inspires me to color my hair. I then plan out everything I need to change my hair. For this I've decided that I wanted to color my hair with blue and purple and brown. I will be using both permanent and semi-permanent colors.

I mix the lightener with a 30 developer. I use a 1:1 ratio of developer and lightener. My hair is long and it takes me about 12 ounces total of the mixed lightener. Once it is thoroughly applied throughout my hair I let it sit and lighten for anywhere between 30 to 60 minutes. When my hair has lightened to the desired level I rinse it out. I blow dry my hair rather than wait for it to dry naturally. Once my hair is dry I part my hair so the parts I want colored brown are separate from the hair I want to color blue and purple. I apply the brown to my hair. I let the brown develop for 30 minutes before washing it out. I wait several day before coloring my hair blue and purple. This gives me time to wash it several times and make sure all of the lightener is thoroughly rinsed from my hair. If there is still lightener in my hair it prevents the stain from working well on the hair. When I apply the blue and purple I part my hair again and apply the stains. Since it is a stain the longer you leave it on the better the color will stay. I will typically watch a movie while it’s on my hair to pass
