The purpose of project one, was to develop proficiency in rhetorical analysis and argument, by writing a paper that examines an audiovisual text. One must support a thesis, and analyze how the text works it’s audience through sound, image and text together. In my essay, I did just that. In my essay, I discussed how the directors of The Colbert Report used various forms of audiovisual to give the show credibility as a conservative talk show. Throughout my essay, I was able to point out several forms of audiovisual rhetoric and connect them to the argument.
