Organizational Profile The following paper takes a look at a few organizations that are part of local communities. Habitat for Humanity and a place called home are a bit different in the services that they offer, but the end result is to help people in the community. The two programs due a great job of helping individuals find a place to feel safe whether it is an after school program or helping family’s build a new place to live or repair their homes into a home that feels warm and inviting. The involvement and responsibility at A place called home is volunteers coming together to help teens from the ages of 8 – 21 years old with love, safety, enrichment, training, and opportunities through educational programs, counseling, and mentorship. APCH is a dynamic, non-profit youth center, the responsibility to the community is to help their members stay in school, go on to higher education, pursue successful careers, and develop into active, contributing citizens and leaders. At Habitat for Humanity of Orange County the organizations involvement is to bring people together to build homes, community and hope. Their responsibility to the community is to help those in need that need a home or a good place to live. Habitat for Humanity of Orange County is dedicated to eliminating substandard housing locally and worldwide through constructing, rehabilitating and preserving homes; by advocating for fair and just housing policies; and by providing training and access to resources to help families improve their shelter conditions. These two programs take action in social responsibility and align themselves with appropriate institutions to create a better environment to live and work. For example, they have set up a foundation to assist in learning, education and/or the community coming together to build homes for lower income families for the public. This action will be viewed as an asset to all of the communities that it serves, while developing a positive public profile. In some cases our veterans and active military families with home ownership are struggling, therefore it triggers some foundations to support and contribute their time to assist them in any way. A Place Called Home is an organization in South Central Los Angeles that makes sure young adults from the ages 8-21 years old has a safe, loving, nurturing place to go to afterschool or any time they want to feel safe and secure. Their social initiative is provide educational programs young adults for example with homework help, tutoring, dance classes, digital media, and the list goes on with programs for youth and their parents. They also provide community-wide events throughout the year that helps youth and families in need of clothing, food, furniture, toys and other household essentials. The organization also provides teens and parents with skills and finds them employment in the community. Habitat for Humanity is an organization who repairs and builds houses for low income families, disable homeowners, veteran and military families. This organization social initiative is to ensure that families that are low income, veterans and military families have a home to leave in. This organization helps disable homeowners to repair their houses to keep the maintained of their home. This organization also donates online to low income families and if families that are in need of building materials the organization will also donate building materials to the family.
