Advocates and Opposers to Gun Control The issue of whether gun control should be put into effect has been an issue in America for a long time. Accounts of mass murders in town squares and in private schools have swept across the country. At the same time, innocent and law-abiding citizens have been enjoying the sport of hunting and shooting clay pigeons. Americans are convinced that relatively easy access to firearms leads to violence and other issues, while others strongly believe firearms should be accessible because the strongly benefit society.
