An 18-year old female has been airlifted to an area hospital with life threatening injuries after losing control of her car on Memorial Drive. Officers believe speeding and texting played a major role in this single car accident this evening. That was reported this evening by a local news reporter at the scene of the accident. How many times have you heard similar news reports like this one about an auto accident? It only takes one text or call to change your world upside down. Distracted driving is the leading cause of car accidents across the United States.

4. Save serious talks for later. It’s important not lose yourself in stressful thoughts or serious conversations when you’re behind the wheel or a passenger. Driving and focusing on the road is your task at hand, so you should save the “we need to talk” moments for later.
5. Avoid eating or drinking while driving. It may seem like a good idea to grab a bite to eat on your way to a meeting, but food spills are a major distraction when driving. What’s more important your life or morning coffee.
