Cars have been around for more than a hundred years. The first “modern car” was made in 1886. The Benz Patent Motorwagen, is thought to have been the first vehicle that was designed to be powered by a internal combustion engine. Since then, billions of cars have been manufactured, and have stood as one of the most popular modes of transportation in the world.

Modern technology is advancing so quickly that even now, there have been many new “improvements” to cars. There have been multiple flying cars that have been in development, and in the near future are going to be released to the public for purchase. That is, if you have had legitimate flight training and a licence.

Driverless cars are a whole different thing, though.

Firstly, they can certainly offer a much more environmentally-friendly approach to modern vehicles. There are many ways to utilize a driverless car, making them hybrids, or having them run on electric tracks throughout a city. They’d save thousands of gallons of gas every year, and have lower CO2 emissions. They also are much more safe, considering if everyone in the future used these. There would most likely be advanced GPS systems, and simple communication between cars to prevent them from getting too close to each other resulting in accidents.
