If I were to have or adopt a child, I would do exactly what this discussion is prompting me to do. I would make a list of all of the pros and cons of enrolling or not enrolling my child in a child-care center. Some arguments that stand against enrolling a child in a child-care center are that the quality of the care being provided is not up to par. Low quality care facilities could lead to increased cortisol levels, evoking unhealthy levels of stress for my child. If there is a high child to caretaker ratio, my child may not receive the correct amount of attention.
