College, and college life something you think that never ends but something that goes by a snap. As you come into college we start to join in multiple activities and organizations to get involved. One of the highly-participated or known to be organizations on campuses are Greek life. A myth or fact of brotherhood and sisterhood?! As you walk through the sidewalks of the first few weeks, high volume music, lettered tables and others catch your attention, making you wonder if you should rush. Every college has Greek life. It is not something you can completely shut down. There have been incidents that put fraternities and sororities in harmful situations. Multiple incidents have reported related to drinking, hazing, safety, and cheating within fraternities and sororities. School authorities have taken steps to avoid these incidents from occurring again. Underage drinking is not a secret anymore. Most students start drinking while they are at college parties, usually thrown by Greek life, but not always. Law enforcement, school authorities, and even some parents know about this. Since there is a large number of underage drinking it has been hard to control this issue. Greek life is a door for many students to learn what real life is. Knowing what is the best and looking at both sides is the best way to decide if you should support or shut down something. As probably heard every now and then in news and social media issues such as drinking, assaults, cheating, etc… are something that you can also find outside a Greek system in real world scenarios. A disadvantage is that it is also found in fraternities and sororities. A brotherhood or sisterhood, a group of people to support you, and something that can gift long lasting relations and connections are family, and the next opportunity is through Greek
