Australia has given many opportunities to migrants all around the world. Today it is seen as a melting pot of cultures, but not all experiences have been smooth sailing. After the White Australian Policy was abolished, multiculturalism has been booming in Australia with migrants coming from all corners of the world. This being said, migration is seen as a double edged sword. On one hand it provides countless opportunities to migrants looking for a chance to change their lives for the better, but it also opens doors to be subjected to prejudice. Saying that migration is absolutely positive or absolutely negative would be wrong because everyone has a different experience, but more likely than not migrating to another country would be more beneficial than staying in their home country. Many people from all over the world have already come to Australia because of that. There’s no doubt that they may face hardships such as racism or language barriers, but leaving everything you know to migrate to another country surely means that it will be better in their new home no matter how hard a migrant needs to toil or what experiences they may face. In the end, coming to Australia gave them opportunities that couldn’t be found in their home country or else they wouldn’t have migrated in the first place. Whether they lived in a corrupt country, war-torn place or an area where job opportunities were scarce, it would still have to be better here rather than their home country. Michael Peros, a greek migrant, lived in an island in Greece called Lipsi. He claims it was a beautiful island and he didn’t seem to have a bad lifestyle, but when asked why he migrated to
