Juvenile offenders are those who broke laws at a young age and have to face the penalty of their actions. Being that they are young human beings, their incarceration is a very controversial topic, which everyone feels that their personal two cents matters, so to enter this debate I will give my two cents. I agree with the minority of the Supreme Court which believes that there should be a mandatory LWOP sentencing when they commit murder of any kind. People treat these criminals as if the crimes that they committed were not serious, many of the cases brought up were cases of murder, and people still want to release these criminals. That is what is wrong with today’s society we feel too much sympathy for others,which isn’t always bad, but we show sympathy for the kids who murder, and we show none for the families who lost a loved one because of the murderer. She is referring to when her sister was murdered by a teenager, which would make her seem biased to those who believe that the murders should be set free, but all it means is that she knows the truth of these murders. She is able to understand that these murderers are just that, murderers, and they shouldn’t be treated any different. Murder is such a heinous act, that those who commit murder shouldn’t be seen as humans anymore. They lost their right to humanity, once they took someone else’s right to LIFE. “ So few who work on the juvenile offender side can truly understand what the victims of their crimes sometimes go through. This is an important fact to take into consideration because we as a people rarely look after the family who lost a loved one, unless they are famous, so many of these “normal” people do not receive the mental help that they may
