After the terrorist attacks that occurred on September 11, 2001, a debated law was created and passed called the U.S.A. Patriot Act. U.S.A Patriot Act stands for "the United and Strengthening America by Providing Appropriate Tools Required to Intercept and Obstruct Terrorism Act". The USA Patriot Act was passed by the United States Government and President George W. Bush and was signed into law on October 26, 2001. The Act was passed in many areas in both houses of Congress and was supported by the Republican and Democratic parties. In the year of this law being processed since there has been massive debates regarding the positive and negative advantage of this bill.
The Patriot Act was designed to help law enforcement in the fight against terrorist future terrorist attacks. A very important part in this is the gathering and development of intelligence information. A positive advantage of the Patriot Act is the expansion of surveillance

This new law that I sign today will allow surveillance of all communications used by terrorists, including emails, the Internet, and cell phones." Many people debated over this Act. Americans want the government to go through great lengths to hunt down the terrorists even if it would cost their own freedom, but they also want limits on the government spying because of privacy concerns. The electronic spyware is used for hunting down terrorist but it is very easy for the government to label anyone as a suspected terrorist and start gathering information on them. The patriot Act also allows sneak and peek warrants to be used for any federal crime. This warrant allows the individual to know that there being investigated and allows the law enforcements to break into an individual’s house to search their possessions. There are ten titles that make up the USA Patriot Act, and in the ten titles are important
