The operation of running Puppy Mills in the United States is a very controversial topic. Puppy Mills are legal large scale commercial dog breeding facility where profit is the main objective. The well-being of the dogs themselves is not a priority in these facilities, which is why the topic is so controversial. Most people believe that Puppy Mills should be illegal in the US, and many organizations such as the ASPCA are trying to ban puppy mills overall.
