Within Descartes meditations we see that he concludes humans, as substances of God do possess free will. Descartes conclusion derives from three previous propositions; 1) that God exists 2) God is not a deceiver and 3) God created him and is therefore responsible for all his faculties, including his judgment. Based on these three propositions, it seems that this is a contradiction, if a supremely perfect non-deceiving being created a substance and is responsible for all of its faculties, how is it that this created substance occasionally finds itself in error?
